Joanne D. Almon

Thank you for all the pictures you have posted here. When we moved to Yakima in late 1989, Joanne seemed already almost legendary as the owner of the "best" real estate company. When I started to work at her agency I came to see her as much more than a legend but truly a caring, intelligent, hard working and fun person. Her professional standards were high for both herself and her agents, but she knew how to support each person where and when they needed it, all the while multitasking to the ultimate. What a gem! She was so proud of Bill and her family, the ultimate wife and mother. I only lived in Yakima 3 1/2 years but always have counted Joanne as a major highlight of those years. My sympathies to all the family.

Joanne was a powerful woman who made so much possible for so many of us who worked for her. The strength that she gave each of us and the way that she called us each to do our best for each other and ourselves caused us to admire and love her, with deepest respect. She literally changed my life and made me a better person. I will never forget her and will always treasure her as a woman who I saw as a force of nature, and a force for good.

Joanne was a part of my life from the minute we moved to Yakima. We raised the children together, wallpapered their kitchen laughing until we cried, spent Christmas Eve's together, had a glass of wine or two or more together many times and cried in the halls of Almon Realty when Annie and David were leaving for college. She was the one who in 1983 suggested Real Estate to keep from being bored out of my mind. So many memories -- I miss my friend. Kate Putney

Joanne was such a beautiful friend to me. It seemed she always knew what words I needed to hear. I loved hearing her laughter, enjoyed our conversations, and admired her.

I will lovingly think of her often and miss her greatly.

My prayers and thoughts are with you, Bill, and family

My Sister-in-law Joanne Almon…
When I first met her, I knew in my heart she was
going to be an Almon, she treated my family with respect
kindness and love. She was warm and sweet and always
smiling. Amazing family values and a wonderful mother
to Craig. An incredible wife and her love unconditional.
I knew she was a perfect match for my brother because,
well – he possessed the same qualities. A fabulous cook,
she was always making her guests feel comfortable.
There wasn't a task too big or too small she wouldn't
tackle without being victorious.
Joanne was truly an amazing woman of integrity
Poise, strength and truthfulness. So to Joanne, this is
not goodby, this is – catch you on the Flip Side in Eternity.
Forever love,
Your Sister-in-Law
Barbara I. Almon
