I'll always be grateful to John for giving me my first job in real estate, a calling that has lasted now for over 30 years. Mine was a new position at the time, and I met with John and Ed Clark, his tax accountant, for the interview. Following the offer and the acceptance, Ed asked me how often I would like to be paid. I said that it really didn't matter to me. John grinned, and said "How about once a year?" I said, "OK. If its in advance." John didn't take me up on my offer, but we were able to come up with an acceptable alternative. John really meant a lot to me. I'll never forget his impact on my life.
