John Elliott Banta Jr.

John has had a special place in my heart since he and Matt became friends in elementary. He was a joy to be around, always positive and full of life. I could always count on John for a kind word or a silly laugh. I wish I had some profound advice to share with you both, but after fours years of my own grief it has eluded me. I can tell you however, that the passing of time may not take all the pain away but at least the intensity lessens. My hope is that you can be a comfort to each other and to your family, knowing that love heals and strengthens us all. I believe that Matt is looking after John as I am here for you in whatever capacity you may need.

To the Banta Family, I met John through a mutual friend, Austin Bradley...John was one of the most funniest, entertaining people I've ever met. I offer my most sincere condolences to you and please know that he will remain in my heart always. May John Rest in Peace and may God give you the strength you need to go through this.

Mr and Mrs Banta:
We don't know you but we just lost our daughter last week and she was 22. Trust me we know what you're going through. The loss is indescribable. Make sure you comfort each other as you deal with this. We feel the pain you're going through. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

My husband and I met John when he was in high school thru our son, Leroy. John was a well mannered and funny kid. Through the years we have come to think of John as one of our children. There were times when he was in the our home just as much as our son Leroy. We will miss John. I feel that a piece of my heart has been taken away. I know that death is a part of life that we can not escape. We will miss John but there are memories that we will always have of him. Leroy Jr., Leroy III and myself send our deepest sympathy to the family.
