I am very saddened to hear of John's death. He had been on multiple visits to my school to be interviewed by my students. I appreciated his service to his country and to my students and remember him with great fondness and true appreciation for his life. He has left a legacy of blessing on me!
I just found out about Uncle John passing away, my heart hurts and I am thinking about his family. I hope he went peacefully, praying for him, Glen and the whole family. He was my godfather and I loved him very much. All the Cardozo brothers and sisters are together in heaven, we will see you all again.
"I don't think you should die until you're ready. Until you've wrung out every last bit of living you can." -Libba Bray.
My life has been touched by many individuals who forever will hold a place in my heart. John Cardozo has been one of those who definitely made an impact on me. Although I met him only four years ago, he was a man of great courage, respect, and dignity. As a veteran and someone who served for our country in the South Pacific, I had the honor of hearing his story and writing an essay on his life that published in the Purple Heart Veterans Heritage Project book in 2011. It is incredibly true that you will not pass until you've given all you can to this life and boy did John give himself to not only our country, but he told stories of his past that will live on. "Freedom is not free," and a man like such should not be forgotten and definitely will not be by me. John, you are in a better place now and taught me so much about the life I have yet to experience. If I can only make a fraction of the mark you made here. Your story will not be forgotten and you will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in Peace John
I am very saddened by the news of losing my father in law I will always think of him he was always sweet to me and to I love yo I love you Renee your daughter in law.
I will truly miss my dear and long-time friend, John. I do know that Jesus has prepared a fabulous welcoming for John with Avis and all his departed friends there to greet him. John will always be in my memory as a man of great character and love for others. Our loss is heaven's gain.
