John Franklin Gainer 1935 - 2013

John Franklin Gainer

Tuesday, April 23, 2013
I looked at all the pictures of John's life and am happy that I knew John Gainer. He was an awesome Masonic Brother and fellow Provost Guard member. That's how I knew John. He was a shooter and was at all the pistol matches since I had started the Shrine in about '06. He was a friend and mentor. He was always there to help when we were on the range. When one of my pistols fell apart John said come over and I'll get it back together for you. We worked on that blasted pistol and had a couple of Blue Moon beers and finally he grumbled disgust and said it was impossible to fix and to take it to his friend who was a gunsmith who eventually fixed it in time for our next match. When I was at his house that day he offered to help me fix my Honda mower and when we compared notes it turned out that I had actually bought that mower from his shop in Irving some twenty years ago. What a small world.

John, you will be missed by many. I will see you on the other side and hopefully they have pistol matches in Heaven. God Bless You John.

Dear Peggy and family,
John will be missed by all who knew him, including those of us at Redeemer who appreciated his kind, gracious, sincere way of welcoming us to the 8:00 worship service. Peggy, I will always remember how lovingly you two walked up the aisle each year for the blessing of your wedding anniversary. You and John are an inspiration to all of us. God be with you in this time of sadness and reflection. We are here for you. Your 8 o'clock Redeemer sister,
Jackie Maki
