Joseph Claiborne Barry, Jr.
Joe was a friend and inspiration to me, a great business and civic leader in Leon and then Wakulla County and a true pioneer and promoter of ecotourism in Wakulla County through his Inn @ Wildwood Resort and many, many things that have lead to our shared vision, and soon to be reality, of the Wakulla Environmental Institute.
May God Bless him. I know he'll rest in Peace.
My sincere sympathy to all the family who have lost such an
accomplished and great man! So
Sorry! Jan Soto
I loved this man! In the early 70s, when you had full service stations, he always waited on me, my mom -now 90 - and family when we bought gas! Always, he was friendly and helpful to a family of women who had no clue about cars. We had him to dinner, gave presents at Christmas and loved him for his giving spirit. When I was going thru a bad patch he would sit me down and give me his big brother speech! Told me about salty dogs and now 42 yrs later I still have on special occasions. When I moved away in '76 I felt I had lost a brother. He was a very special person, a friend to anyone who needed one! We are so sorry to hear of his passing and offer you our deepest sympathy and love!
