Dear Joanie and Boys,
Please acccept our Deapest Sympathy with Joe's passing. A finer man you couldn't have asked for. He taught us honesty, morality and Love. He truly loved his students and their families, and they loved him.
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you in this most difficult time. May The Dear Lord give you strenght.
No doubt Joe is in Heaven with our Tara, solving math problems:)
Love,
Suzanne and the Accomazzo Children

I was a student of Mr. Palumbo in 7th and 8th grade at Palo Verde School. My whole summary of my wonderful school days can be said in two names; the Palumbos and the Joslins. I have told my kids and grandkids of my school days at Palo Verde. The work Mr. Palumbo put into building the sets for the talent shows, the 7/8th grade banquets theme scenes, the stage scenes for the annual play, etc. I always remember his sayings: "what's good for the goose is good for the gander", "birds of a feather flock together"; and years later I finally learned what "primadona" meant. I feel I am a good person because of what I learned at Palo Verde from caring educators like Mr. Palumbo. He was also a good coach. My brothers and sisters also remember him. God bless you all.

I knew Joe from early childhood in Monaca. His mother and father were dear friends to my parents, Domenic and Mary Scassa. Joe and his family lived on Pacific Avenue near the SOI hall. It always was fun to go and visit there with the Palumbo family. We ran into to Joe and his wife in Disneyland one year when our family had come to Arizona for a family visit with me. God bless you and your family and keep you all in his care.

I remember Joe from Palo Verde School in the 1960's and early 1970's. He and his family lived on campus and he was always around the softball games that were played in the summer there. He was one of the good guys and a pleasure to be around. We shared a lot of laughter.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Thank you for your service to this nation.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Mr. Palumbo was my teacher in 8th grade back in 1977/1978. Loved how he called everyone "koochie koos". He was a wonderful teacher and will be missed by all.
