Judith was a wonderful, warm, creative, multi-talented lady. We were both colleagues and friends. In the early days, she sat behind me at work and was a pleasure to chat with and share laughs. Her wisdom and positive attitude were inspirational. She had a "don't give up" attitude. In her latter days, she was able to keep smiling even though she was in great pain. In her short life, she made a huge impact on the lives of so many. She will be greatly missed and always loved.

I first met Judith when she spoke at a United Way gathering in Toronto. I was very moved by her willingness to share her story; she was articulate, sensitive, and funny. I thought to myself, this woman has passion and fire. She certainly had an impact on me as well as her audience.

Years later, Judith became a valued colleague of the Deafblind Services Team across the province of Ontario. She came on board, eager and willing to take on the Literacy Program for Deafblind Adults as an instructor which was not an easy task; one of many challenegs and learning. And that she did folks!

Judith's enthusiasm and enjoyment in her work brought an enormous awareness of empowerment for herself and others. I watched her evolve from a literacy instructor, to a mentor, to a teacher, to a role model and an exceptional advocate for the students in the literacy program and for all people with disabilities.

Judith's fire turned into a beautiful and pure energy that will continue to inspire through the ages. Light up the solar system JJ, happy trails...

Judith was a joy to know and work with. She loved to learn; she loved to teach; and she did her best to make her teaching relevant and helpful to her students' lives. You could always tell that Judith loved her students and she loved people. She was an asset to the Deaf-Blind Literacy program at CNIB and to the Deaf literacy community. I will always remember Judith's kindness, her creativity and her positive “can do” spirit.

Judy as I know her, helped me to create my firts job resume in Trinidad, many years ago. She was truly a gentle soul that pushed and inspired me to achieve the most in life. I could not believe the news when I heard it. The inspirational conversations we had, the appreciation for the military and aviation. I can honestly say she guided me. I salute you cousin and thanks for believing in me and showing me that perseverance pays off. Love you cousin and I will continue achieving what you believed in. You have inspired so many. Love Tuby.
