Julio "J.J." Apilado, Jr.
J.J. was always smiling and a joy to know at work at SMUD. He would always take the time to stop and talk. I missed seeing him after I retired as he was one of the people I remembered most fondly. My sympathies to his family.
We worked with JJ for many years at SMUD. He always had that ready smile and easy way about him that made you feel like he had all the time in the world to chat with you. We are sorry to hear of his passing and know that he will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends as you deal with life without him.

Despite your constant steely expression, you were always so sweet to me and funny too! As much as you probably thought I was a crazy kid, you were always there when I needed a ride or a place to crash. You and Lourdes had more of an impact on my life than you know. Thank you for all you did for me. I will do all that I can for your daughter as I've always tried to do.
The thought of not ever seeing you or being with you just breaks our hearts. You were such a special friend to us. You were more than a friend and we had a bond that could not be broken. We cherish the memories of all the times we spent together and of all the vacations, yearly Tahoe weekends and New Year parties. We will miss your smile and laughter and loving and good natured, always willing to help personality. You are "one of a kind" and cannot be replaced. We love, love, love, you...............this much.
So grateful to have known this man, who could just give you a nod or a wave and it would brighten your day. It was truly amazing to see how much he loved his family and seemed to live life to the fullest. He never showed any hesitation in lending a helping hand, words of wisdom or just his presence when it was needed most. He will truly be missed.
