" To the family of Kevin Cleary, I served in the Marine Corps with him in Vietnam with Charlie Company 1st Marine Division 1969-1970. I remember him as our company radio-man and was great in calling in choppers for our wounded men. Years had when by before we were able to connect again. I have a picture that he sent me of Sue, Balakw and Kyle. We stayed in touch periodically and the last time we talked was around his birthday. He shared with me about him finishing chemo and was worried about the weight he had lost. I would pray and would say words of encouragement to him. I've called a few times since his demise leaving messages not really knowing he have passed. I'm just finding out this by looking on his face book page. You have my sincere sympathy and I will share this with the others that served with him. It was because of him, I was able to find 15 other Marines that I presently stay in contact with. He sent me a contact list of names and addresses. I am sadden, but I know he is in a better place rejoicing in The Lord! God Bless and I am on face book!

A moment ago I suddenly thought of Kevin, my travelin' buddy back in 1978. We went to the Canary Islands together, stopping in Luxembourg on the way. So I looked him up and am so sad to have missed him before he departed. What a great guy - I knew him over the course of two or three summers in Bar Harbor, having met him at the Red House. Couldn't have asked for an easier travelin' buddy. It looks like he went on to have a good life all in all. My condolences to all who knew him and who must miss him terribly now. I have several photos of him from 1978, can send them if you contact me. Just google Lonnie Chu and use the contact form in any of my websites - it will go directly to me.

I came across this obituary by chance, and am shocked and saddened. I wasn't even sure it was the same Kevin Cleary I knew until I read the name of his sisters and brothers. Kevin and I dated and lived together in college. I don't know if the family remembers me, but I certainly remember you! That big beautiful house and so many brothers and sisters. I haven't seen Kevin for years, and in my mind he is a young man still. I'm just so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Tami Medley-Maynard

I just found out recently about the passing of Kevin. I only knew him through my husband Kevin, who was a friend and also a brother Marine. I'm sure there is a great reunion taking place up in heaven..
My condolences to the entire family.
May he rest in peace
