Shock and absolute disbelief was our reaction when we read your email and then we both just sat there and cried. With a very sad heart we send your our deepest sympathy Pat, which comes from the bottom of our souls! It is just so unbelievably hard to grasp!

Like most people, we had no idea of Kris's illness and his brave fight! All we know is that he told us- when we visited your Ranch in July of 2006- that he seems to have something like a nervous leg syndrome and he will have to do something about it. Obviously he himself had no idea of the seriousness at that time.

Although we are so far away from oyou and have only met you a couple of times, we always felt we knew you two quite well through your Christmas letters and our first meeting! We have very fond memories from our first meeting, when we spent, in January 1997, one week with the two of you on the Nekton-Pilot Bahamas Dive Boat and enjoyed your company- above and under water- very much! We even remember some of the conversations we had with Kris at that time. You Pat had an important project going on and spent a lot of time on your computer after each dive, therefore we spent more time with Kris. And during our unannounced surprise visit to Cle Elum in 2006 (after our Alaska trip) you two were also most kind and gracious and showed us your estate, your home, and everything else at your Ranch. At that time you had just started with the construction of your new building and we saw the finished project shortly afterwards on your Christmas card.

Margita was also very grateful that Kris took the time and sent her a letter, convincing her to have this hole in the heart PFO operation, which he had undergone as well in this emergency operation, wince she was unsure if she should have it done or not. She went for it in November 2006 and it just might have prevented her from having potential future diving accidents.

We are so so sorry that we didn't have the opportunity to meet with you guys more often. You always said that you would call us during future Toronto visits, but it seems that you never made it to our city anymore, or maybe you did and we were out of town.

We know what a wonderful man Kris was....a warm, generous, kind, loving, extremely talented, very hard working "Genius" who loved, adored, and appreciated his equally wonderful wife Pat very much! We know what a great private and business relationship you shared! What a terrible loss for you, you must miss him beyond words! We can only imagine and believe us we really can! And although we know that you are a very strong woman, this seems so unfair and too much to ask that you now have to somehow manage without him! What a great idea that Kris is resting at the Ranch, it must be consoling for you Pat that you can visit him any time. He will give you the strength you need to go on without him.

We embrace you and send you and Kris our love.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I know it is such a difficult thing to lose a loved one, particulary to cancer. I didn't know Kris well at all- in fact we just met once, but I am very glad I had the chance to meet him in person. He was an amazing man and from what I have heard from you and Jerry, a very dear soul. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know you are surrounded by wonderful friends and family who will be there for you through this difficult time. Again, my thoughts are with you and I am sending you much love.

So very saddened to hear of Kris' passing and the fight fought so well in silence. I know in my heart he gained strength from you for the struggle, and I know you are hurting with this hole in your life. I only hope the love and concern that the thousands of us who love and respect you brings some measure of comfort though we have to share this energy from too great a distance. I wish there was something to be done to change this situation. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers through the coming days and weeks.

I wasn't aware of Kris's brave struggle, over a period of time with his illness. So when I received the news this week of his being taken from you, his family and friends, I was most shocked. I sincerely feel for you in this time of loss of your soul mate and partner in life. Both Kris and Roger (not that they had a say in it!!!) were too young to leave us, however here we are left to carry on. And carry on we will.

Roger and I were always so grateful for the kindness, generousity, and friendship you both gave us....so many memories of time, place, laughter, friendship, and experiences. I am thinking of you and I know first hand what you are going through.
