Lawrence Harry "Papaw" Dailey
Thank you, Harry, for your service to our country.
We became Harry and Barbara's neighbors two years ago. We knew him as a kind and gentle man who would slowly but faithfully walking his dog around the yard. It was obvious they were old friends. We also admire Barbara's commitment and love for Harry. Fifty-Eight years! What a beautiful thing .
Thanks for everything coach... we will miss you!
I will always remember how professional and yet fun Harry was during our teaching years at LHS. God bless his wonderful family during this sad time.
Harry was one of the best young men to come out of High Island Independent School District. I remember the year he was selected Best Citizen. Harry had a great sense of humor. He was an
all round great guy. Several years ago at a high school reunion, he told me how surprised his college English teacher was that he knew how to diagram a sentence. She called him up to the board for a demonstration. When he proved he knew how, she asked him where he learned that. He gave Mrs. Thelma Meynig, our high school English teacher, credit. I was always proud to call him friend. Another Class of '51 graduate, Billie Bolin Jones
