Lawrence Harry "Papaw" Dailey
Coach..you will be missed. You and Mrs. Dailey were like second parents, always there when needed and called upon. So many of my childhood memories involve your family. I was so blessed to know you and your family.
I remember when Mom and Dad were out of town and A/C broken. Coach and Mrs. Dailey came right over to help. After a little looking around Coach discovered the drain line was block. He told Mrs. Dailey to open the A/C closet and he would run the garden hose through the drain hose to clean it out. So he stuck the garden hose through the drain hose and turned the water on full blast. It was clogged up alright and Mrs. Dailey had the gunk all over her...head to toes, as did the wall and carpet inside the house. We all looked at each other and just bust a gut laughing. They helped me clean up and promised not to tell...but of course we told, how could we not share that funny story that is so typical of Coach and Mrs. Dailey.
I'll miss you Coach. Mrs. Dailey, Darla, Danny, Todd and family, my heart is breaking for you guys! I love you all and you are in my prayers.
Darla, please give condolences to your mother and brothers from the Tolbert family. I remember you told me the story of the courage and love your dad had when he reached down you brother's throat to retrieve a Barbie doll shoe he was choking on. I often wonder if I could have done such a heroic thing.
"Hey, Harry", you will be missed.
Darla, wow it has been years. So sorry for this great loss. When we were children I remember that you told me the story of how your dad saved one of you 3 kids after you choked on a Barbie doll shoe. I always thought about that and wondered what amazing courage and love that must have taken to reach down the throat to save you child's life. God grant you peace.
What a great and wonderful man, he was a major force in shaping me and my military career,Thanks Coach Dailey
