Mr. Mack Anderson Edwards, 81, of the Glenola Community, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home.
A resident of this area all of his life, Mack was born on October 9, 1932 in Randolph County to the late Nathan Spencer Edwards and Myrtle Grace Edwards. Mack was a Veteran of the United States Army and of the Methodist faith. He was the loving husband of Judith B. Edwards, who preceded him in death. Mack had worked as an accountant for over 17 years and later as a truck driver, having worked for Murrow's Transfer Inc. He especially enjoyed woodworking because there wasn't anything that he couldn't fix. In addition to his parents and wife, Mack was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Frederick.
Mack was dedicated to his family and especially proud that his family heritage was being carried over five generations. Those family members surviving include his daughter, Margret Threatt of the home; daughter, Catherine Frederick and her husband Mark of Ft. Myers, FL; and son, Richard Edwards and his wife Diana of Palm Bay, FL. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A celebration of Mack's life will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Rd., Archdale. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in the Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
