We send our prayers and thoughts to you during this time. He was a really great Uncle to grow up with.
Two words for Mack .. "True Gentleman." It did not matter where you saw him, what the situation was, who was involved .. he was always so attentive to the task at hand, always showing such a kind spirit .. always with a smiling expression .. and professionalism. It has been my honor to have known Mack.
I pray for peace and comfort for the family today .. and .. in the days ahead.
Mack was one of a kind. He was such a good man. He will be missed so much. I was proud to call him my friend. Barbara, I'm keeping you and the family in my prayers.
I started working in the schools as a painter for the City System in 1978, while I attended UTC....I met Mack then. Several years after I finished a degree in Education and started working in the schools again, our paths crossed again. His delight in seeing the results of my education made me feel very proud.
Mack shared his enthusiasm for life and education with everyone he met. I know his presence will be greatly missed, but the laughter and memories he has left with us all will keep him alive in your hearts
Mack Newman will be remembered among the ranks of Hamilton County principals as a servant leader and partner in our mission to impact the lives of children. He and Barbara joined volunteers from their church in the yearly workday outreach to the community, and we were happy that Mack's team worked at CSLA several years in a row. He always offered help and assistance in solving problems or keeping things in proper perspective. This was typical of Mack. He lived his faith through his actions and attitude. I will forever be grateful for his example and friendship.
