Margaret Lynn Russell Alley 1952 - 2013

Margaret Lynn Russell Alley

Thursday, January 10, 2013
It is said, “A loyal friend is like a safe shelter; find one, and you have found a treasure.” I met Lynn in the late 1960's at Marilyn's Composition where she worked as co-assistant to her mother. As I was hired on at the Company Lynn and I became friends. Since that time, she was an incredible person in my life who meant so much. She was a friend whom I could trust; a friend that never turned her back and always had time for me. She was a friend whom I could sit with and talk with, and when I walked away I knew all the updates on her family, and she knew mine, and we had the best conversation ever. Lynn was a person who loved her family and friends she was forever reaching back to help others and always with a smile. Lynn was a jewel, and I will miss her greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with Marilyn, Tracy, Ronnie, Randy and the entire family during this difficult time.

Tracy, I am SOOOO sorry about your Mom. I feel like I know you. I sat at the Markup desk beside Lynn Russell Alley for many years. Me on one side of your Mom, Hal Gilbert on the other side. When there wasn't "work in the tower", we talked... about our kids, our moms, our houses, and life in general. Lynn was a TERIFFIC friend. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face (and was never without her perfect lipstick). She lit up when she talked about her Tracy and Ronnie. I knew about all your dance recitals, when you cut your hair, your engagement, marriage, moving to Savannah, Lynn becoming a grandma for the first time. Lynn was proud of her family and y'all were always her number one priority. Even when Lynn was ill, she still had that smile and sunny disposition. She was dedicated, a hard worker, a perfectionist and most of all a wonderful friend. I miss her already.
