Dear Joan, Mary and Glenn,
I'm so sorry for your enormous and premature loss. Margaret was such a very special sister, friend and companion. I will never forget her lovely laughter and the many stories (I won't bring them up here) that showed her adventurous, playful spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Marjie
Dear Flanagan Family,
Margaret had too much living to do post retirement. She was a friend from college. God wanted her by Him. Maybe he plays golf. I sure hope so.
Dear Joan, Mary and Glenn, I am at a total loss. You cannot imagine how important and instrumental Margaret was to the many humungous decisions I've made in the past 12 years - from the 2000 reunion to moving from New Zealand to Florida in 2011.
That phone call 12 years ago to me in New Zealand, and her persuasive Irish sense of humour, renewed a friendship and bond that was strong and fun.
Margaret stood for all that is Trinity and the Trinity woman.
She was and is my friend.
I am still feeling stunned by the news of Margaret's passing, in part because she was so extraordinarily full of life. We shared some wonderful travel experiences and a thousand laughs, and I had looked forward to many more. Joan and Mary, in spite of the terrible pain and loss I know you are experiencing now, you both have the same zest for life - it must be a Flanagan trait! I think that positive energy will help you as you mourn Margaret's passing while moving forward with your lives. You are very much in my thoughts and prayers. Margaret, you will be missed by many.
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Margaret.
I remember her fondly when she and Al lived here in Burlington.
My favorite story told by them was about a small Thanksgiving Turkey that
was thawing in the kitchen sink over-night and found the next day in the living room.
There two Siamese cats had managed to get it that far and were supposedly overheard saying
“where do you want to hid it; I don't know how about you?”
Please let me know when the service is to be held in July.
