Mary C. Friou

John and Diane and Thomas,

Ms. Friou was always so nice. She was funny, quick witted and a joy to speak to. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your families today during your time of grief, as she is lain to rest.

Sincerely,

Terrie Hembree

In memory of a very sweet lady, I am sending a contribution to The University of Texas in memory of Mary Friou for the benefit of the Department of Accounting.

I first met Mary in 1962 when I entered the PhD program and Mary was administrative assistant to Glenn Welsch, who was then doctoral advisor for the College of Business Administration.

Later, when I served as a visiting faculty member in the Department of Accounting, and later when I saw her or spoke to her by phone, she seemed like she had found a long-lost son.

I shall remember her fondly always!

Mary touched my heart in her long beautiful life and the hearts of many more in her home at Westminster. John and Diane, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your lovely family.
Faithfully,

My heart is with all the Friou family in the loss of your sweet mother, Mary. She was indeed a very special person. I can only imagine the joyous reunion between Friou, Mother and Daddy when Mary joined them! What a blessing to have had this outstanding woman be a part of my life. I will truly miss talking with her and sharing laughs with her during our visits together. God's blessings to all of you.

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to my cousin Mary Franklin's family.

The Upchurhes were particulary close to our family. When my grandmother died in child birth with my aunt Blanche Wiley, her aunt Lizzie Wiley Upchurch took her in and reared her with her four daughters, including Mary Franklin's mother.
