My friend of 40 years and co-worker at Von Humboldt Elementary School. Although I am a Christian, I went to Temple with Merle when she asked me. We held prayers privately every morning at 7:00am.
I will miss my dear friend a lot and forever.

We were sorry to read of Merle's death in today's paper. She was a lovely lady who was interested in all that was going on in the world. We were fortunate to meet Bernie and Merle in Phoenix at an Elderhostel program on Frank Lloyd Wright and we instantly became friends. Since then they have visited us in St. Charles and we have met for lunch in Chicago. We also kept in touch with cards and the internet. We will miss her and send our love to Bernie and all of her family. Peace and Love, Mike and Nancy Hill
