My heart is so sad for my daughter, Mary and granddaughters Katelyn and Kelsey.
Mike loved you all so very much. He always wanted to make all of you happy. Mary met Mike when she was working in the same building as Mike. She had gone to the cafeteria to get some ketchup for her hamburger. Mike overheard her and said he had some packets in his desk. Mary went and got the ketchup, thanked Mike and went back to her office. Could Ketchup lead to marriage? I think God had a little something to do with this wonderful young man meeting and marrying Mary.
One of my first memories of Mike is when he and Mary were dating and Papa and I were babysitting Katelyn. That night Katelyn got really sick and had thrown up all over herself and her bed. Mary and Mike walked into this mess and before we could say much Mike had taken Kate in his arms to comfort her. He didn't seem to even notice or care that she had throw up all over herself and now on him. He was some guy. Kate, recently he told me how much he loved driving you to school. He said he so enjoyed this special time with you. Your daddy will always be there for you, Katelyn.
I remember how happy he was with the birth of Kelsey. Mike, Mary and Kate had waited a long time for this little bundle of joy. Kelsey, you are such a happy little girl, so full of gusto, so like your dad. I was remembering about the wonderful tea parties daddy and you had. I can picture you with your pink teacup and your daddy holding his blue teacup with his pinky turned up just right sipping your pretend tea and having a very lovely conversation about pretend cookies and the like. Your daddy will always be ready for tea and conversation.
Today is Easter and we all missed Mike. He was a great man.
Mike was the party. He loved people. He had a way of making you feel very special----He was LOVE---
I once introduced Mike as belonging to my daughter, Mary. He laughed his big laugh as he did and of course told everyone.
I do believe that he belongs to Mary, and Mary, Katelyn and Kelsey belong to him.
I know that Mike is watching over his three girls.
