Nicholas Francis Carsillo

November 12, 2012
Nick had many civic virtues, not the least of which was an ability to cut through the nonsense and go directly to the chase. He was the go-to man when common sense and not rhetoric was required.

To Nick: I guess we'll have that "famous glass of wine" in the afterlife, my friend.

To Marion and the Carsillo family, my sincere condolences on the passing of Nick. It was always a joy to be around Nick, who was always upbeat and fun to talk with. We all will miss his inspirational emails and his friendly bartending at St. Finbarr Knights of Columbus functions. His legacy is his family and the numerous good works that he did in the community. He made his world a better place! May he rest in peace.

Papa was like a second father to me. I learned a lot of life's lessons from him as he was a man of common sense and always stated things in the simplest way. I am sorry that I could not be their to say farewell. He will always be in my heart though and that is how people keep going even though they are no longer physically with us. I was married to his daughter Diane, and had many happy memories of the marriage. Nana and Papa were the best in-laws any married man could ask for. He taught me how to make gravy the proper way for crying out loud. Nothing but good memories from this end. Even though I was divorced from his daughter, he would e-mail or call once a month just to see how I was doing. He will be missed. The world needs more men like Nick Carsillo. I do not have any tears left!

Nick was a very special man who we will remember as a kind, fun loving, happy man who lit up a room with his wonderful stories about his life experiences, friends, jobs, etc. We will miss his political e-mails and jokes and his wonderful cooking. He will leave a void in many people's lives that will never be filled. We feel privileged to have been his friends and will miss him tremendously.
