Memories of Rachel Wheeler
I delivered Meals-on-Wheels to Rachel for the past five years, or so. She was so positive. She was always happy to see me, and invited me in to visit awhile. She would show me some project she was working on. Rachel was very hospitable, offering me something to eat or drink. And usually she wanted to give me something on my way out. I usually declined, but I did take and still have the toilet paper roll she covered with Christmas wrapping paper with a white wash cloth sticking out the top.
Her famous refrain, which she repeated often: "I'm old, but I can't complain, I have friends, family, and The Lord. "
It was a joy to deliver lunch to her and I will miss her.
