You were my father, mentor, confidante, and best friend. I shall miss you and our phone calls. You are with Mom, Ray, MaMa and PaPa. I will always follow your example and advice. Thank you for staying here to help me with Ray's death. Texas games will never be the same. I was so lucky to have you as a Father.
Your loving son Randy
Ray Griffin was a great friend and co-worker to whom I learned some valuable lessons of televsion ad sales and life! To Randy Griffin to which I played tennis, because Ray said I would be too easy to beat on the golf course! Your dad was the best!
In the mid-80s, I had the pleasure of working with Ray. Not only was he a kind man, he was respected by everyone who knew him. Having Ray in the office, gave us all confidence the day would be okay. I am very thankful for the workdays we spent together and will always strive show the kindness he showed me.
It was my privilege to work with Ray at KXAN. He had a great love of life, and the gifts of humor and humility. He worked at his trade with diligence and integrity, and he treated everyone he encountered with kindness. Ray lived life well and long - an exemplary life worth celebrating and emulating. Rest in peace.
Randy, I just heard about Ray's passing and I am very sad to hear the news. Ray was a great guy and I loved him dearly.
When I first started working at KXAN in 1986 he quickly
took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. He was the nicest person.
He and Margaret were always asking me when I was going to meet someone and get married, so when I did they were at the top of the guest list.
I feel honored to have known him and I will always remember him with great fondness.
My sincere condolences to you and your family
