Chris, I've just veiwed the photos on this site and they've brought back some great memories that I havn't thought about in a long time. your dad gave me my 1st summer job when I was 12 at one of his garages that he owned at the time.I was just doing cleanup and basic service work, but at 12 it was pretty exciting and I learned a lot. I think I made a dollar an hour, but It felt good to have my own money in my pocket(and I felt rich at the time). Over the yrs. your dad tought me a lot and I've never forgotten the fond memories of the time I spent with him, going back to my early childhood. Ha! One of my later memories was when we were both living at Old Hickory Estates and he had a minor injury at the time and couldn't cut his yard.Well,I offered to cut it for him. It was just a small yard, but during the process I ran over a hole in the ground that just happened to be filled with Yellow Jackets.(Yeah, I'll never forget that one!) Some of the better memeries were playing cards with your dad and betty at their house on the river. He really loved that house and I think his time there with betty was the happiest times of his life, until his health started deteriorating. Anyway, Just wanted to let you know that I kind of know what You're going through (with my mother dying last May 5th) and that you & Betty aren't alone in your grief and I'm here If you ever want to just talk.
Luv ya cuz! Mike
...PS. In the next few days I would like to share with you a few old pictures of your dad, If you don't mind. Let me know.
