Dear Pauline,

Last summer, when you and Rick came to Baltimore, it had been around 40 years since he and I had last seen each other. With the slightly clearer eye of an adult, I saw what an amazing person he was, a man of great depth and even greater perceptiveness about people. When he was a young teenager, he tried on poses like everyone else, but there was always something genuinely avant garde about him--he was way ahead of the curve in many realms. A very memorable man, underappreciated then, now mourned too soon.

You'll always be in my heart my friend. It was a great adventure to know you and love you. I will always remember you talking to the woman playing the harp at MDACC after your lecture and how we enjoyed hearing her play while we waited for your car. I hope there is a harp in heaven for you. Another new adventure for you. Rest in peace my friend. Will miss you always.

I had the pleasure of playing bass behind Dr. Rick on several occasions, Most Recently on Jan 10, 2013 at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar, less than 2 weeks before his death. A class act, he will be sorely missed. :'(

i re-connected with rick recently after we had worked together at anderson-he was a very down to earth, honest, and caring healer with a unique outlook on life-and quite willing to share about his path through this life, speedbumps and all. may the tears turn to smiles, ASAP!

I feel very honored to have know him and worked with him. Pauline and he always have had a special connection and when you became friends of theirs you could feel the love. His love for Pauline, music, life and others is how I will always remember him. Thanks Rick for some wonderful years. I'll see you again the next go around. Hugs :o)
