I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Puckett. I feel privileged to have heard him preach when he was our interim pastor at Synder Memorial Baptist Church and as a guest speaker. I always felt the spirit and love of Christ when spoke. Thank you for sharing this special pastor with us.
Gene Puckett is an amazing man. He was gifted with the abilty to both write and speak in a way few others can do. Usually a person does one or the other; but Gene excelled in both.
Robbie, I trust you know my heart as it reaches out to you. Gene spoke several times of my knowing somthing of your journey as he referred to Sarah's passing in November, 2011.
I had hoped so much that he would be able to do the Dedicatory Prayer for the Chapel at Campbell's Law School. With his desire and hopes, along with ours, we had planned that he would, even though we all knew he was very ill.
Memories of Gene continue in my mind and heart, even as assuredly, you and the family remain in my prayers.
Dr. Puckett served as pastor in the interim at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC, and I am grateful for the time he spent with us. His scriptural insight and the sermons he preached were always well-prepared and wonderfully presented. I remember well the twinkle in his eye and the joy in his voice. Thank you, Dr. Puckett, for adding so graciously to the life of our church! Faye Riner (Fayetteville, NC)
Gene was a true leader and a powerful light that will continue to shine in our hearts for many years to come. Robbie our hearts goes out to you and your family. I will forever be thankful for our followship with Gene may he rest in peace.
My love to the family. Gene has been a model for us all in living and in dying. He was an amazing man. I will not get to the memorial service as I will be vacationing with college friends (we were in college in 1950 and Gene was born the same year I was born) but I will remember you all that day and for many days forth.
