Coach thanks for letting a coach from Kansas come work the running utes camp. Learned more ball there than anywhere. Man could this guy put on a lecture. You have left your mark on the game and also on many player lifes. You will be missed. Thanks again for all you did for our great game!!
RIP Coach...I grew up in Milwaukee and played basketball for one of the Catholic HS during the late 1960s (not MUHS). During summers, Rick would frequently get a bunch of us from different nearby HS together to play basketball at neighborhood playgrounds. The playground games were great; it was fun to become friends with other HS players; and, of course, get to know Coach...I always thought he was much older than us HS kids...turns out, he was only a few years older, but quite a bit more mature.
Coach was like a father. He helped me battle through heart surgery and how ironic this year I had to also step away as I will need a transplant. I will always love him for being there in so many ways. I miss you already Rick!
Rick was always at the Rich Panella events and Rick was always thoughtful and generous. I had always considered a family member of the Panella family. He was one of the most unforgeettable people in our lives. May Rick rest in the arms of our loving God.
Thanks for the amazing memories good man,
the Warriors will never forget you!!
Rest in Peace.
