I was carried back 75 years to when Billy (James Stevens) and I were almost inseparable friends (from around age 4 to 8 or 9) and Roy Dee was the older brother whom we both respected. When I saw the obituary and the picture of his smiling face, it was like going back to another world and time.
Roy Dee's mother and mine were best of friends, however, time has a way to dim the past. My condolences and prayers to your family.
I cherish many wonderful memories of Uncle Roy and Aunt Norma; fun times spent at their home for New Year's Eve parties with my parents, barbeques, birthdays, yummy tea and nice sweets, and camping together. I remember the hospitality and generosity they always showed to me as a child and then later in life to my own family. I especially remember the positive attitude Uncle Roy always had. You will be missed.
My sympathies to Barry, Brian, Sandy, Sarah and Jeremy at this sad time. With the Lord now and in perfect peace.
We always appreciated the kindness shown by Roy and Norma to my mother, Engla Imsland Puckett. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barry and Brian and family at the loss of their dear father and grandfather.
The Puckett's have always been an important part of my life. Throughout the 50+ years, they shared their home, invited me on family vacations to Traveler's City and elsewhere. Mr. Puckett was always a voice of reason with numerous tips and invaluable advise on how to manage many aspects of everyday life. I will miss him terribly, but thank him for the endless memories that will last me a lifetime. Thank You Mr. Puckett.
You will be greatly missed my good friend. Prayers for you and your family.
