I would like to send my condolences to SPC. Betts and his family and loved ones. I just heard of this a few days ago and was shocked when I heard about it. I was in his unit at III Corps at Fort Hood and for a short time was his assigned roomate in the barracks, although he never stayed there. I didnt know him too well, but from the few times we talked he seemed like a good guy and good soldier. I needed a kevlar once to drive a humvee and he loaned me his. I also drank Jack Daniels with him one night (he loved Jack Daniels) and played call of duty with him. I told him I could out drink him, and the next thing I remember I woke up the next morning late and I missed formation. He of course had no problems making formation and felt fine the next day! Never tried to out do him at anything ever again after that! I wish I couldve been the soldier he was and done the things he did! RIP Betts! We'll meet again someday.
Dear Josie and Wayne, My deepest sympathy and prayers to you & your family. May God give you strength during this most difficult time! May God heal your pain with the wonderful memories of your beautiful son and brave soldier!
May he rest eternally in Fiddler's Green ......
