Stefano Carosi 1945 - 2011

Stefano Carosi

Wednesday, April 04, 2012

Ciao Stefano !

I met Stefano in 1966 when I was a student in Florence and I have considered him a best friend for 45 years. I would hang out with him and his friends at Bar Lo Sport across from the soccer stadium, and go dancing at the Blu Bar in Fiesole. He helped me buy my first car. I helped him distribute Christmas gifts to his clients at bars and restaurants throughout Tuscany the year he broke his leg. He was generous and warm-hearted with a joie-de-vivre he passed along through sharing simple pleasures like wine, sports, cars and the latest jokes. Stefano was at my wedding in Florence and I at his in Denver. My wife Cynthia and I would visit his mother Silvia when he was away from home, including for Christmas Eve dinner. For several years on his annual trip to Italy he would change planes in New York leaving us a few hours to catch up at the airport and take the annual photo. Stefano was proud of his family and liked to talk about all the different things his wonderful son and daughters were doing. I never heard him say a bad thing about anybody. I grieve with Pat, Gianpaolo, Kathleen and Christina.
