Words cannot express how much I miss you now,
I look to the sky and ask myself how?
I miss our talks already, however seldom and far between,
I wish I could be there for you now like you were for me.
They wouldn't let me leave it wasn't up to me,
Training up to deploy was more important than family.
Out of my control, is where my life remains,
You were the older brother I never had and my heart it pains.
One of the best men I know and will be for the rest of my days,
I miss you, I love you, on this day its you I praise.

This Just In... Always entertaining working with Steve in Smalls at UPS. Hard working and helpful, even with a smile on his face from things I'd say. Thoughts & prayers are with the entire family. Miss U Steve.

Working with Steve at UPS was a great experience, he was the nicest guy i have ever met. He would help you out without even asking him too. He always had a great attitude towards life and a smile on his face that brightened up your day if you were feeling down. I will never forget the conversations we had in Small Sort, he was always there to listen to any problems you had. My Condolences to Steve's family he was truly a GREAT guy.

What a beautiful day to take a loved one away
Outside the trees sway in the breeze, we’re mourning while the rest of the worlds at peace
What, how, why to us, bring him back we plea,
When you get up to heaven and to the golden gate, God will give you the key and reveal the mystery

Sing a little song for me when I’m gone
I know it might take awhile but things will come along
Cry a little tear for me, I know it’s hard, but try to be happy

God had a plan for him today
It just happened he had to take him away
Try to remember the way he laughed,
Or maybe the way he played with his cat
All the memories you two had made
Are to be remembered on a beautiful day

Sing a little song for me when I’m gone
I know it might take awhile but things will come along
Cry a little tear for me, I know it’s hard, but try to be happy

He’s in heaven strummin’ his guitar, when you look for him don’t search very far, he’s in a special place inside of your heart
So next time you sit down and cry and you’re talking to God, don’t ask why, just thank him for the hello and unspoken goodbye

So laugh a big ole’ laugh for me,
At Christmas dinner with the family
Family is where I want to be but heaven is where I belong,
Just try to remember me when you sing this song

Love, Melodie

I’m waiting for the turn of the key in the lock and your happy greeting, shouting over two barking, wiggling, jumping dogs, everyone so glad you dropped by. The visit may be brief or long enough for a card game or a shared meal.

I’m waiting for the phone to ring and that “Steve’s Cell” message to light up on my phone. Conversations light-hearted or sometimes serious, but always welcomed. So many shared moments.

I want one of those quiet talks maybe a political discussion or current event. I want to hear a Sophie, KC or Mo story, or something about work or traffic, it doesn’t matter so long as I could listen and share.

I want at least one more hour, day, week, no maybe one more lifetime with you. You were so loved and are so missed.

Love, Mom
