Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Stewart "Stew" C. Meyer
I saw Stew and one of his young grandsons one day across the parking lot at HEB (too far to shout a greeting). As I observed their interaction while they loaded up the old Isuzu Trooper (couldn't miss that truck!) I thought, what a "GRAND" father that boy was blessed with! I'm proud to have served in the same Army with the General.
Thank you Gen. Meyer for taking the time to write to my son who is currently at the Naval Academy with words of encouragement and sharing your own experiences with him. We feel honored to have your written words. Rest in peace, Sir.
A true gentleman and a very honest and friendly person that was sincere in all of his actions. Harker Heights definitely benefited from his dedication and leadership in our community as well as the Central Texas area. He will be missed and It was an honor to know him and call him a friend.

Stewart brought out the best in people. His affirmation empowered me to strive to be the fine person he seemed to think I was. His friendship helped me to respond to challenges with courage. I know that I am just one of many who stand straighter when they think of him, who are inspired to do their best because of his influence. With much love to Mari and the family, Sherry Mondragon
I met GEN Meyer back in the mid 70s when I was working at the Education Center. I started out at the main center, then was transferred to the West Fort Hood center. As late as last year when I saw him at the Harker Heights post office he spoke with me. It was a privilege to have known him. Rest in peace, sir. Condolences to your family. Susanne Judd
