Ted and Naomi would come to Church and I remember standing beside Ted and I harmonizing as we would sing the Praise songs. Even though he had partial hearing loss he would carry a tune with each song. I met Ted through his son, Darren and got to know him better through Darren's stories about him. When Ted and Naomi would be a church with their oldest granddaughter Ted seemed Like his smile was a little bit brighter and his steps were a little bit livelier and he'd say how much he loved his grandkids and that he was Blessed to see them as they were growing up.

I'd like to thank Ted for his service to our Country in his military duty. I'd often see Ted sporting a "Retired Veteran" cap He was truly proud of his service and truly proud of our Country.

It was always good to see Ted and see him smile or laugh. Naomi would sometimes offer "motherly" advice to me and I'd feigned ignorance about her advice; with a sly smile I'd look over at Ted and he'd be laughing at the banter between Naomi and me.

He truly loved Naomi and I'm sure as in all marriages there were some rough times through their history together through the military, moving working life and retirement. Their Love and companionship was never ending. In my mind their Love is a striving example for Pam and I to achieve in our Love and marriage.

Pam and I are better people and by knowing Ted and Naomi. He is missed and we can't wait to see him again in Heaven. Ted's light will live along in his children and grandchildren and future generations. Ted's light will live in me.

Teddy was a good person and it was a pleasure to know him. A more dedicated and concerned family man does not exist. Our condolences to the family.

Ted Akrie: what a wonderful friend and neighbor. Last winter, he helped another much younger neighbor push his work truck out of a snow drift at 5:30 in the morning. It was just the kind of man he was.

In early spring, he bought and brought to me a small gift. It was so thoughtful and unnecessary that I have always cherished his caring -- even when he was not well himself. I'm so glad he and I got to watch a Bronco game together on TV this year -- even though he'd have rather watched the Steelers!

Linda and I have been so blessed to know Ted and Naomi and be able to call each other "friend."
