I've just finished reading all the wonderful things everyone had to say about Tom and it's obvious that many people from all over the country loved and respected him. I also loved and respected him. I've known Tom for 18 years and I had the privilege of being with him when he passed away. Tom had come to see me in Minnesota to help out with some heavy duty work on my farm. He was looking forward to trimming trees, putting in some fence posts and riding my recently restored John Deere 40 tractor. Tom didn't make it to my farm. He became ill while still 30 miles away and called me to come get him. Instead, I called an ambulance and met them at the hospital. I'm very grateful for the squeeze Tom gave my hand when I got there. The squeeze told me he knew I was there and he wasn't alone. I stayed with him at the hospital for the next 24 hours, holding his hand and talking to him. I'm sorry he didn't get to see the apple blossoms or the fantastic green of the pasture on my farm. I'm sorry I no longer have this wonderful man in my life. I miss his funny texts and his phone calls. I miss our heated political discussions. I miss his laugh. I am comforted knowing how much love he gave and received from all of you. I am comforted knowing I will see him again.
Our hearts go out to the Resha Family. Tom was a wonder person and friend. Our friendship goes back to 1978 when we were 2Lts. Tom will be missed. God bless you all.
Tom was the best supervisor and friend a person could have. He maintained his mission vision and personal integrity when others gave in to pressure. Tom's leadership and unwaivering dedication to his troops ensured those he led were successful in their AF careers; especially my own. Any hour of the day Tom was there to listen, provide sound advice and pitch in and help whenever needed. Hi sense of humor was a morale saver particularly when the situation looked dim. His committment to the community is unequalled. He truly cared and would always find a way to help. God Blessed us with Tom.
Tom was a great leader, mentor and friend. Our thoughts and prayers to out to his family--he will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Tom was a wonderful friend, leader and always made me smile. I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers for his family.
