Vernon "Skip" Anderson

Friday, March 18, 2011
In 1972 at Cedar Falls High School Skip Anderson coached both sophomore football and basketball. His football team was undefeated, his basketball team lost one game all season. Skip was a winner. Skip was our coach, more importantly Skip was our mentor, for that we are eternally grateful. "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." Psalm 100-4

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Anderson's passing. He was a great man, a terrific principal, and I consider it a blessing to have crossed his path in life. I will never forget his kindness, warmth, and genuine presence. He touched so many lives. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. I am deeply sadden to hear of the passing of Mr Anderson. He was a great principal. He truly cared about all of his students and if you had problems he was there when you needed to talk. RIP Mr Anderson. You will always be remembered by your students in Perry!

Carrie and family,

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of you. I know this is a difficult time for the whole family. Just know that Skip was loved by so many people, he touched a lot of lives. When Skip got the coaching job at Harris- Lake Park I was a senior, oh man how I wished he would have been there though out my career. I loved playing b-ball for him as did all of my teammates. He wasn't just a great coach he was a great man. After I graduated from HS we became neighbors in Lake Park, oh the backyard parties.....fond memories I'll never forget. The only thing I regret is not keeping in touch with the Anderson, it's only been a couple of months since I became friends with Carrie on face book and found out he was sick. Coach you will never be forgotten..............
