I first met Vi when she, Bob and their daughter's, Bobbie and Iola were visiting our family in Minnesota. I was only five but still remember how attractive and charming I thought she was. She and Bob were the beloved niece and nephew whom my parents spoke of fondly and were as close as siblings to my brother, Clifford.
In the 1970's my young family and my mother moved to the Seattle area and were fortunate to be welcomed by Vi and Bob. Vi was gracious and supportive of all of us and helped us to feel at home.
I know that our family is among a large community of fellow mourners who will miss her. She leaves behind many wonderful memories from her generous, well-lived life.

I will always remember Viola (Vi) as a well spoken, well dressed, lovely woman with a great smile who cherished Bob. I first met Bob and Vi when I moved in next door to them when I was nine years old. I always loved seeing her and hearing her voice. I especially loved her baking and enjoyed the glass of water with lemon that she would give to me on hot days. Vi worked at the library at the time and Bob was retired and unloading Safeway trucks at night for extra spending money. My last vision of Vi was seeing her and Bob drive up 10th street in the 1965 Mustang (which Bob always said was her car) with all the windows down and her silver hair blowing in the wind. It was apparent that she was admiring Bob with the most immense smile! They both looked like two 16 year olds in love who had just borrowed their parent's car for the afternoon. That three second memory is how I will always remember Vi. -Jeff White, Kirkland, WA

Bob and Vi came to visit us many times throughout the years - as kids and as adults. I will always remember Vi as a positive influence to us. She was always happy and had that bright smile and laugh that always lit up the room and made her so pleasant to be with. We will surely always think of her that way. Our thoughts are with all of her family now.

I always enjoyed being with Vi, down at the Renton VFW or while Bob was
entertaining up at evergreen. She was one great lady and will be missed.
