Virginia Pitts Rembert Liles
Virginia Rembert was a "teacher's teacher." She inspired me as a student of hers. She also was a wonderful person.
Virginia was a unique combination of strength, intelligence and humanity. My family thought the world of her.Andrew Bolotowsky
Dr. Rembert was a memorable professor at Birmingham-Southern, where she used her art history course to open students' eyes to a larger intellectual world. I was lucky to be her student and to see her and Raeford occasionally during their fruitful retirement in New York. I'm sure many members of the BSC community share my feelings of sympathy for the family of this gifted teacher, artist and citizen.
Howell Raines, BSC '64
Early teen years in Fayette, Alabama, I remember Virginia.
Virginia's friendship, love for the arts and scholarly advice will be missed by many. My heartfelt sympathy to her husband and family.
