I am truly sad to hear of Bill's passing. I knew him in high school, where I appreciated his friendliness and unassuming manner. I always enjoyed talking to him at class reunions -- he was a person of substance, and still friendly and "just folks."

My sincere condolences, Kitty Calhoon

Bill Aycock has left us a tall and true legacy of that which is good and honest and important in this life. He was a friend from early teen years. My thoughts are with your family. Thank you for sharing such an inspirational person.

Bill has been one of the most universally well-liked and highly respected attorneys in NC for as long as most of us can remember -- an advisor, mentor and friend -- a very large legacy.

Our sincerest condolences to all of the Aycock family and friends.

Dear Alexa and family:

I am out of the country and just learned of Bill's passing and am so distressed at his passing. Please know that my thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Bill Aycock touched many, many lives. He was a couple of years ahead of me at Chapel Hill High School and at Carolina, but I knew him because of his family history and because of the person he was. Not only was he in my youth, but he was also a major presence in my adult life...he coached a soccer team named Peaches and Cream in Greensboro....two of our daughters played on his team, along with his daughter. What an influence he made on them. Who would have thought the world would be so small to keep us "connected" through the years. My condolences to Alexa and his family....I lost Bob to the same disease, and there was never an explanation of why. A tragic loss of two good men.
