I have many fond memories of my relationship with my great friend and colleague, Dr. Blamer......he was my mentor and supporter for 28 years while at MCC.....my entire family recalls our great times together in Indian Guides, with his entire family at Higgins Lake, and with the PE staff and others at all of the after MCC game parties....He was a wonderful man, someone you could always trust to give you his best thinking, and a man of his word.......a great teacher and administrator at MCC for many years.....he will always be remembered for his contributions to the college, the community, and the entire country!!!!! He will be missed!!!!!! Howard Hughes
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time of loss of such a great man. Bill will certainly be missed and lovingly remembered for all of his many great accomplishments. All of your family can be proud of both of your parents as they were wonderful people. Love, Jim Mason, Woodside Church
I met Coach Blamer as a Flint Junior College freshman when I took a golf class from him in 1961. I followed his stellar career after I left Michigan in 1967 and spent the next 40 years in higher education, mostly in Kentucky. I did have an opportunity to visit with him during this time. His coaching accomplishments at FJC and Mott CC were superlative but I was also impressed by his academic career, earning a doctorate and eventually becoming V.P. for Academic Affairs at Mott, the top academic position at the college. Throughout his career his was a gentleman of the highest order.
Mr. Blamer was my bookkeeping teacher at Flint Tech. He signed on as a coach at Flint J.C./Mott C.C. the same year I went there as a student. Mr. Blamer was my late husband's and my customer when we owned Higgins Lake Hardware. Dr. Blamer and his wife attended many of our '56 Flint Tech reunions held in Grand Blanc. He will be fondly remembered by so many of us.
Our condolences to the entire Blamer family.
