I met Admiral Bud Flagg while working at American Airlines (Aircraft Maintenance)at JFK. I believe it was sometime in 1994. I was introduced to him by a fellow reservist. I recall our first conversation while on a maintenance delay we got to talking about common interests; service-duty, honor, country. Admiral Flagg was a nice down to earth gentlemen and shared with me lots of professional and personal information. I worked the night shift and would look forward to talking to him before his international outbound flights. I saw his name listed as one of the passengers it really hit home. I knew this man, a good man, a decorated aviator and a fellow employee at the airline. I think of him whenever someone mentions 9-11, I will never forget him. May his and his wife's souls rest in peace. Lt Col Elliot Safdie, USAF Reserve.

You were born male, but showed the world what it took to be a MAN. What a fine Naval officer, AA Pilot and husband. May we all continue Bud's legacy and be kind to everyone we meet. Thank you for your service to our country. I pray for Bud and Dee's friends and family whose lives were forever altered on that horrible day. Much love from Texas
