I am sorry to hear of the passing of such an honored teacher, both in Korea and the US. I fondly remember playing Bartok duets in his home on Belvedere Ave.

Dear Mrs. Ahn and family,

I am very sorry for your loss and have such fond memories of Dr. Ahn. When I first came to Peabody over 25 years ago, he welcomed me warmly and I learned much in observing him over the years. I always appreciated his musicianship, sincerity and professionalism, and was proud to be his colleague.

I am sorry that I was not in town for the service, and my thoughts are with you.

Dear Mrs. Ahn and family,

I was saddened to learn of the death of your beloved husband and father of your children, and I extend to you my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Yong K. was a wonderful musician and teacher, a great colleague and gentleman, and it was my privilage to know and to work with him at the Peabody. He served the school and his students extremely well and will always be remembered for it.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great personal loss.

Sincerely, Robert Pierce

We are in shock from this sudden tragedy. I am so privileged to have been taught by him. We have been so close for over four decades and the entire Silver family is sharing this profound grief.
