Leon and Tina, I just found out about your son and I am so sorry for your loss, I could not imagine the pain and sorrow you must be feeling. My prayers are with you and your family.

Leon and family, I learned of your son's awful tragedy on TV and did not know he was your son. I learned who he was through an email from high school classmates in Hawkinsville. My heart broke as I watched Tina, his mother, speak about his injury and about his son, Luke. This has been so sad to me. He served our country and endangered his life for our freedom, then came home only to die for no reason. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you endure this horrible pain. We were so shocked to hear about the loss of your son. We always enjoyed reading about how he was doing in your mailings. The love of a son from a mother is endless. We are so sorry for your loss and appreciate the hard work he did to give us our freedom.

I never would have believed I would be writing to you this way. This is all such a heartbreaking shock. But I take much comfort in the words the pastor said at the grave side. - "We will be with Zach in heaven much longer than we were with him here".
You all have a beautiful family, the love you all share is so evident. I will continue to pray for you all.
