I am so sorry that I did not hear of Fred's passing earlier... Fred was a true inspiration and a sincere man of God.. Earth is a better place because of his influence and now Heaven is sweeter because of his presence.

Fred and I seldom agreed on anything, but he was sincere in his beliefs and articulate in expressing them. I'll miss our spirited email debates and hope to continue them someday (though if you were right I'll probably be in the "other place")!

We at RenewAmerica.com are deeply saddened by the passing of Fred Hutchison, our esteemed feature writer and colleague. His extraordinary essays—which were unsurpassed in their grasp of philosophy, religion, science, culture, history, and government (and which are archived at www.renewamerica.com/columns/hutchison) challenged layman and professional alike to rise above shoddy thinking and develop a better appreciation of truth. He was a godly man who left a legacy for future generations to learn from. He will be greatly missed.

I am so glad to have met you! You will always have a special place in my heart. I will remember our little talks and the laughs we had when I was at your home. Keep an eye out on me. You will be forever missed.. You are with our Good Lord and no more pain, my friend. See you when I get there. Kathy Wears

All of our lives have been enriched through the life and ministry of Fred. His friendship, encouragement and writings have enlarged all of our capacity to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'll always remember going to the 'Friends of Fred' Party he threw to introduce his friends to one another. What a blessing that special day was! I will never forget it as I now consider his friends, mine! Marcia W. Kendall, Dallas, Texas

You've left a legacy which you can be proud. Our time together may have been short but your faith and erudition was sterling and will be a benchmark for me until we meet again. Thanks for being that dear friend to Julie and me. Peace at last, Fred.
