I am just eleven years old and had Mrs. Davis for fifth grade last year. I remember the day I found out about her death, there was a cloud hanging over the whole school that day, it was just incomprehensible that Mrs. Davis had died.

To The Davis Family and Friends -
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Molly's tragic accident. Although I grieve for her loss, my heart is also warmed with the wonderful memories that "Miss Palsgrove" (as I knew her) will hold for me forever. She was the most special teacher/person I encountered in all my years of education, from elementary school through my surgery residency. I was fortunate enough to have had her in both 1st and 5th grade. I want to extend my sincerest sympathy to Molly's husband and family - my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Obviously, you all know the profound affect she had on generations of students at the Bexley schools, including me.

Mary,
My heart and prayers go out to you for your loss. Molly was an amazing person. I remember when the two of you would come down to Central Office. We never saw one with out the other. Hold onto all your good memories because they will last a lifetime. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Davis was my fifth grade teacher.
I entered her classroom a painfully shy child, who was struggling with a learning disability, and she took me under her wing. She encouraged me to speak up in class, even if I didn't know the answers. And she created a special "secret" signal for me: I'd tickle my nose when I needed something repeated, and she would happily oblige. She was encouraging in so many ways, and helped me to recognize that, despite my learning difficulties, I had a special gift: writing. Even after I left Bexley to attend a different school, I still returned for her fifth grade reunion.
I will always remember her and be grateful for her support. She was truly one of a kind.

Most schoolkids are fortunate enough to have that one teacher through whose example and guidance one sees the possibilities in life. For so many posting on this guestbook, that teacher was Molly Davis.
How lucky I was to be one of those few who got that experience twice, in her very first class and again when she returned to Cassingham in 1975. (I would count myself triply lucky by virtue of having Mary McMullen as my sixth grade teacher, too.)
Saddened as we all are by her passing, we will never forget her legacy - - found in the hundreds of schoolkids who have grown up and passed along those virtues and values that she taught us all those years ago.

Mrs. Davis,
You were one of the few teachers at Bexley that gave me a chance. The time you took out of your regular schedule to help me progress as a student and as a man will never be forgotten. You were one of the best teachers and women that I've been blessed to meet over the course of my lifetime. Heaven holds the faithful departed- my love and best wishes- Scott Bone

I first met Molly as a beginning teacher in the Bexley District in 1984. She was a wonderful mentor and encouraged me throughout my teaching career in Bexley. Many of my fifth grade activities were modeled after her teaching program. I am now teaching in the College of Education at Ohio University and I will continue to pass on her legacy to all of the future teachers I meet. Thank you for being a teaching example for all of us to follow. Prayers, Debra Shaw

Molly will be sorely missed. She had the kindest heart and the brightest smiles. I enjoyed getting to know Molly through Sunday school. She was always so positive and so kind. She showed compassion for everyone she encountered. I feel blessed to have had her touch my life and the life of my children. I find comfort in knowing that Molly is with her Lord but will still miss her here on earth.

We were all so saddened to hear what happened to Molly. As each of my kids heard the news they called from the various cities they live in to find out if it was true and were so upset after finding out it was. Although 3 of my 4 kids had Molly for a teacher, having Mary as his teacher was like having Molly for an aunt. They all adored her as we did too. Whenever we would run into her, there was always a smile on her face and an enthusiastic interest in what our kids were up to. She was the true meaning of the word "teacher". Besides teaching the academics necessary to get ahead, the more important lessons she taught were how to treat others, and how to live life in a positive way. Molly was an inspiration to all who came into her life, and for those of us who were fortunate enough to know her, we are so lucky. She will always live on in the stories my kids will tell their kids of the wonderful teacher that was part of their lives.
Our thoughts are with Mary, Molly's husband and the rest of her family. May your hearts be comforted by the memories you will always have of the beautiful light in your life; your Molly.
Fondly,
Sarah and Ed Arndt and family

Miss Palsgrove was simply an Angel. She was my 4th. grade teacher at Edwards Elementary (Groveport 1974) and her memory has never faded over the years, the best person to teach young people that God ever created. The stories I've told over the years and the memories of that class will last forever. She will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on through her thousands of students, family and friends.
God Bless you Miss Palsgrove and your family.

Miss Palsgrove ...as I knew her at Edwards Elementary (Groveport) was the finest teacher I met. She was also one of the finest persons I've ever met. Miss Palsgrove was the teacher one never forgets. Her enthusiasm for education and life was infectious. I was fortunate to have Miss Palsgrove as my 5th grade teacher at Cassingham Elementary. Found memories of her striped knee socks, and learning “the Hustle” in her classroom will always be cherished.
4-5 years ago, she had seen my grandparents’ at her Church in Groveport, and no more than a couple days later, I received a letter in California from Mrs. Davis (Palsgrove). I still have that letter. It reminds me those kind acts, like her letter, mean so much to us all. When I returned to Ohio a few years later to attend my Grandfathers funeral, two of the wonderful faces I enjoyed most on that very hard trip home, were Mrs. Palsgrove and Mrs. McMillan. They made time and effort to show their love by coming to the funeral, by supporting my Grandma through a tough time, and by opening their arms to me with big warm hugs. Miss Palsgrove’s very genuine, caring, and love for Bexley City School System will live on long after she is gone. She has made a profound impact in Bexley, but most importantly each child and their family that were fortunate to be in her classroom will have benefited in life to have known Miss Palsgrove as a teacher and friend.

Molly was an angel in life and is now an angel in the after life. She taught both of my girls at Cassingham and they adored her. She was a positive breath of fresh air for them during a difficult time in their lives.

She recognized the good in each and every person she encountered and made everyone feel special and important. We are all just so much better for having known her, and she will be sorely missed. Her memory will shine in our hearts forever. She was a true blessing. Our prayers and hugs go out to Mary and all of Molly's family.

Mrs. Davis was my fifth grade teacher at Cassingham Elementary during the 1985-1986 school year. I still remember everything about her, and how much all of us in class had such deep rooted respect for her. She was an asset to the school system, and to all of those that knew her. She was one of those rare people that really cared about everyone she came in contact with, and always knew the right thing to say to make someone feel at ease. She was a wonderful person, and will be greatly missed by all.

There are no words I can put in this space that can convey what I'm feeling about the loss of my adopted sister Molly. In growing up with Paul as one of my best friends, and spending many hours in the Palsgrove home, I'm quite sure there were many times Molly and Mary wished the two braty boys would leave them alone. But that never showed in the way they accepted me with open arms. I was always welcomed with that smile that only Molly could produce. To the Palsgrove family this is a huge loss , but know for sure that Molly is now in the place where we all pray to be. She is sitting next to her savior Jesus, and now she can smile over the whole earth and spread her Love from above. Molly , thanks for being a sister I never had.

The story of a great teacher. Molly Davis.
Finding the words to express how we are feeling is important.
She always taught us kindness.
If there were ever a soul who was the most kind, it was Molly.
From the moment dad passed away, the day before school in 2000, she was a rock
for my daughter Betsy Kaplan.
Betsy returned to school after a week, and Molly presented her a felt heart to
carry around with her.
( needless to say Betsy has it with her now )
The way in which she believed in her kids is a lesson for all. Her innovative
ways in teaching.
The legacy she shared in her lunches with the kids well after they left her
classroom is one of the most vital.
Trust, and respect one another.
We were lucky enough to have luncheon with her over at Smiths Deli, and Italian
Restaurant in Clintonville.
She attended Betsy's Bat Mitzvah, and took many a photo with the kids.
When she heard Betsy was working at Nordstrom back in 2006 she stopped by
periodically for a visit.
In fact she was just there over break.
That was the kind of person, teacher, and most of all, friend, she was.
As I walked by her classroom this morning, I stopped to pause at her classroom
window with the candles perpetually lit.
Her spirit now lives on in so many, as exampled by the throngs of people last
night at her vigil.
I walked through a maze of wax drippings and flowers left as a loving tribute to
a great woman.
She is now going to be with all the children in the heavens.
To paraphrase her favorite quote:
" We are the sum of all of the somethings that made us"
What a journey.
What an extraordinary woman.
To me, Molly's genius was in her ability to see the good in all.
We know one thing for certain, in Betsy, her teachings will continue.
Thank you for sharing her with us.
