Dear Ellen and family,
Phil and I were very sad to hear of Boyd's passing. We always enjoyed watching him drive past our house with George riding "gunshot". He was a good, generous and supportive neighbor and we will miss him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

"Bowdie" as his mother used to call him was a very generous and positive person and a great mentor to all the young physicians he taught. I cherish the memories we had in Medical school in Missouri and at Doctors Hospital thru out his career. My heart goes out to you Ellen and family.

Dear Ellen, family (and George!),
I am an athletic trainer at OrthoNeuro and just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to you all. I worked with Dr B at Doctors Hospital in the late 70's & have never forgotten him! He was such an admirable man/doctor with the greatest love and care of his patients. We were a family at Drs Hospital & he was such a loyal, dedicated and respectable part of that family; in countless ways. He was a ray of sunshine with his sweetness & sense of humor! God Bless the Bowden family! Until we all meet again... Thank you for sharing your Angel with All of Us!

Members of the Bowden Family,
The entire community has sustained a great loss with the passing of one our finest doctors. I sat beside him for many of the Boys District and Regional High School Basketball games. For some of that time I was depressed, hurting and
was re-learning to walk after Brain Surgery, Dr. Bowden was very helpful. He gave me hours of medical advice & support.
The gates of Heaven have opened and taken one of the best. Rev. Ron Hooker (Columbus Metropolitan Area Council of Churches)

My sympathy is with all the Bowden family at this time of loss. Our work at Capital overlapped when I was dean of nursing and I followed him on the Board at Doctors. He is one of a remarkable generation of physicians and he will be missed by many.

Dr. Bowden meant so much to so many people. He will be missed. I had the fortune of meeting Dr. Bowden at Capital and we remained friends through the years. We met several times when he traveled to Washington, D.C. and his face was the brightest when he spoke of his wife and family. He was so proud. May God comfort you and keep you always.

Dr. Bowden was truly a great man who will be missed. It is interesting (but not surprising) to see how many people consider him to be a good friend, despite the age differences...truly an indication of how much he gave and cared about others.

Dr Bowden was an outstanding man, Dr. and a terrific person. He touched my life many years ago at Capital University. He pointed me in the right direction and opened many doors for me over the next 30 years. He cared for everyone and asked for nothing in return. I am blessed to have known him. I was an athletic training student at Capital University when I first met Dr. Bowden. I remember him as a caring physician, teacher and advocate for our staff athletic trainers. I also remember his dogs coming into the facility and knowing this is the type of orthopedic surgeon that I wanted to be affiliated with. Nearly ten years later Dr. Bowden learned of an honor I was slated to receive (in another state) and he sent me a hand written note of congratulations. I will always remember his kindness in reaching out to a former student. This is a significant loss to me personally and to the orthopedic community.

Dear Bowden Family,
I have fond memories of Dr. Bowden during the four years I spent at Capital University. On several occassions he patched or stiched me up. More importantly he cared for all of us and will always be considered part of the Capital family.

Dr B was a great man. You always knew when he was in the office because he was always having people come into his office and laugh at an e mail of some sort. He will deeply be missed. MY thoughts and prayers go out to all the family!
