5 years and nearly 2 months later...why you have popped into my mind late at night while I'm at work and made me curious to check this guest book, I really couldn't say. But I do believe that it is proof that you truly have lived on in the hearts, minds, and souls of those you had come into contant with. The picture I took of you by the fire with one of your closest friends during the celebration we had for several people leaving for college at the end of August that year...it lives on and I passed it to that friend of yours 5 years ago. It was used as his default picture on Facebook on and off, for the longest time. But I know you know that.
Keep sending your energy down to us all, especially all those who loved you truly and deeply, and please continue to guide them and protect.
Thanks for being one of the brightest of the shining stars in the sky- nights never seem all that lonely when there's a smile reflecting so brilliantly as yours for each of us to see. Thanks for leaving me with such a brief, yet wonderful, lasting memory of a genuine spirit sent down for a moment but for the most devine of reasons.

Well, I have never met Kyle or his family, or any of his friends, and so I feel as though I am intruding on something that I shouldn't be, and for that I am sorry. However, I would still like to share my story.
My dad, stepmom, and I were driving back from our second home in North Conway. I am in a photography class at my school, and our assignment was to make the viewer of our photograph feel emotion. My dad saw Kyle's cross on the side of the highway and started to pull over, and suddenly I began crying uncontrollaby. I don't normally cry like that, but I couldn't take seeing the baseball, t-shirt, and christmas ornament. I couldn't fathom the sadness his friends must have felt placing those items down on the side of the highway. When the tears started to dry, I picked up my camera and took several pictures (they came out great).
After we packed up and drove away, I tried to find out what had happened to this mysterious "Kyle", if only to better my explanation to the viewers of my photo. However, I couldn't find any information because I didn't have enough specifics. Tonight, the pictures were developed and I typed in "big arms barnes" on google.
I have been crying for the last 10 minutes for all of your losses. I certainly did not know Kyle, or his heart-broken family, or his obviously loving friends, but what I saw on the side of the road that day was more than enough to make me appreciate the sorrows of other's lives and the great potential of mine.
Again, I am sorry for intruding on a personal matter, and I know it has been over a year since Kyle's passing, but I would like to say thank you, and God bless you.

It's been a few months, and I couldn't leave him something on his myspace, every time I went on it I thought about the past with kyle, and couldn't bring myself to stay on his page for too long.
I'm sorry for your loss Jenn, Bruce, Kurt, and everyone that was really close with kyle. I considered Kyle one of my best friends throughout all of high school. I was down at Fort Bliss, Texas doing some training for the Army when I heard what happened. I tried to get them to let me come home for a week, but they wouldn't let me. I'm sorry I missed the services. I got a tattoo with his name to remember him.
RIP Kyle
We all love you

When we were little, Kyle was my best friend, and so much more. He was my protector, my cousin, my partner in crime, and life at Gram's house will not be the same without him. We spent our whole summer at Gram's house; at least it felt like we did. We would play outside until it got too dark, then we would play inside and when it was time for bed we would camp out on the floor in the living room. I knew how important Kyle was to me but to lose him, it shows how many people had that same strong connection, and the extent of how much he impacted our lives. It still feels so surreal, it’s like he’ll just walk right through the door, like nothing happened, like it was all just a cruel joke to get us all riled up. It’s not possible that someone so important in our lives is gone, that he’s just not here anymore. It hurts to think about him, to talk about him, but I know it's important to keep his memory alive. So until we meet again, Kyle, I miss you and I'll always remember you, and keep you alive through those memories.
To my cousins, Austin and Ethan, you two are so special and I know this hurts, I probably don't know the extent of it since I didn't lose my either of my siblings, but thinking about it scares me. Austin, I want you to keep your brother's memory alive for Ethan and to not give up, allow yourself to cry and have fun while you have time on this earth. Ethan, you're too little right now to fully understand all this, but we'll tell you about Kyle all the time when you're older, when it's easier to bring up the good times.
To my Aunt Jen, Uncle Kirk, and Bruce, Kyle was an amazing man and a great person to know. He always helped people when he could and even gave up his bed for his friends that needed it. Kyle was, and is, an important part of your lives and no one will ever forget him. Through our friends and family we will get through this pain and make our lives better for his brothers, so that they will always remember him and they know that he loved them so much. We all do. I’m sorry you lost your son, and I’m sorry the world lost such a great guy.
To Kyle's friends, you knew him from middle school on better than I did and I know that Kyle's an easy guy to love and a hard one to lose. It hurts but we're not alone, I know my Gram still waits for Bond and Jeremy to show up at Christmas to see them. It was great to see his friends, his adopted brothers, be with him and have fun with him while he was with us and even at the funeral when they played football in the parking lot of the Elks’ hall. Family and friends are important and Kyle knew that very well.
To my family, I hope this heals quickly because Kyle wouldn't have wanted us to mope around forever, but of course he wouldn't have wanted us to feel this in the first place. We’re such a close family and this is pushing us all the point of breaking but we’ll support each other and make it through this, it’s what we’ve done before and what Kyle would have wanted us to do. We all have our own side of him keep and we all carry a part of him to share with others.
Finally to the people who couldn't meet him, I feel bad because if you could have met one person who could help you, he would have been it.
I want to add so much more to this because I don’t think these short paragraphs do him justice. He was more to all of us than words could ever describe. Kyle was a friend, a brother, a son, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, an athlete, and a great person in general.
RIP Kyle, We'll see you when our time is done down here. Farewell.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

jen,kirk,austin,ethan, and family
Before the guest book is taken off i wanted to write in it one more time i miss kyle more and more everyday this seems like just a nightmare i can't wake up from i want to repay him so badly but i can't now the only thing i can do is believe it will get better and that life moves on but for now mine is on pause. I remeber one of austins birthday parties aunstin dan and all the other kids were leaving me out on all the fun and climbing the tree house knowing i didn't know how but then as i sat at the bottom and cried kyle climbed down and helped me climb up then when i was stuck up there everyone was gonna leave me there but he tried to help me down even though he didn't get me down i'm still happy he tried. now all i see is him in some of my dreams and everywhere i turn i see someone who looked similar to him but would never become as close tome as he did camp will be no fun with out him but we will try to make the best of it if possible my thoughts are always with you and i'm sure my dads are too along with the rest the family i ove you all like family and hope to see you soon

The turnout at the services was heartmoving. Kyle was such a great guy and in the short time I knew him he was always happy. He brightened everyone's day and will be in our hearts forever. He was a great athlete and rolemodel to his brothers; we're all going through the same pain, stay strong.
We love you always Kyle -Lex Beckwith

Wow I didnt find out until recently. Kyle was such a nice kid. I remember always watching him play football on Friday nights. He was a good kid! To his family: I deeply am sorry for your loss. He was a well-loved guy. I am very lucky to have known him.

I was lucky enough to be apart of Kyle's life from the time Jen brought that little Cabbage Patch kid home from the hospital. And if you looked at his pictures out front you know what I'm talking about. I got to watch the sweet little boy grow into a compassionate, caring, sweet young man, and I know the LAST thing Kyle would have wanted to do was break anyone's heart. Unfortanately, that is the last thing he did. He wouldn't have wanted that. He wouldn't have wanted every memory of himn to be remembered with sadness. So I hope going forward that we remember not the fact that he left us way too soon but remember him by doing what he would have done - extend a hand in friendship to the new kid, give up a bed to someone in need and jsut as someone said on the online guest book - pay it forward - like he did without thinking about what you might have to sacrifice in order to help out another. I believe that would be the best way to remember and honor this wonderful, caring, compassionate young man., Love, Aunt Sherry

Kyle,
It's been a week since you have been gone. I never imagined the impact you had on so many lives. It just goes to show you that you came from a very loving family. I do know that your Dad, Mom and Stepdad were the proudest parents. They raised a great man. I remember the day you were born like it were yesterday. Since your Uncle and I got divorced I did not see you that often but, when I did you always called me Aunt Tami and I thank you for that. I hope your family finds peace with your death because obviously god has chosen your for bigger and better things. You certainly are an angel. Love you always. Aunt Tami

Kirk,
I can't say enough about you!! Wow, you are truly an inspiration for all the stepfathers out in this world. You loved Kyle so much and you gave him so much too. You have been a rock on the outside and I know your heart is broke on the inside. Kyle would be so proud of you Kirk. Kyle knows you will take care of his Mom! You raised a great boy! If I can help in anyway I am a phone call away.

Jen,
Kyle bonded us right from the start. I will never forget the day you stood before me with tears of fear and happiness in your eyes when you found out you were pregnant. But when the day came to give birth, you were the proudest and happiest girl ever. Jen, you are a wonderful mother and Kyle was very lucky to have you. Kyle will live within us forever and you and I will forever remember the pee stick! I love you Jen and I am going to help you through this. My heart hurts for you-your my forever friend.

Kyle's Family,
I write this with sorrow and heartache. I was the lucky teacher to have Kyle as a first grader at McClelland School. My memories are of a sweet, loving and friendly boy who any teacher would have loved to have in class. We will miss him! We pray that your family will find comfort in the loving memories you share.
