Dennis, It has taken me almost a year to be able to write something. You knew you were my heart. We had so many memories together from playing together when we were little children at our grandparents house, hanging out, traveling, me cooking for you(haha) and many days on the golf course/practice range. But what I miss most of all, is our conversations, seeing your face, your big smile, and that laugh.. the one and only. You were loved by many, you were a great successful man. I am very proud of you and proud to be your 1st cousin. My heart is heavy not only for me, but especially for your mother and family. I know how close you were to your mother. She has done a great job to make sure your wishes were fulfilled with the help of your brothers. RIP DKB I miss you.

I was really saddened to know that Dennis had been ill and as i see in this guest book that he will be truly missed. To the entire Burns family, please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of Dennis. I grew up with Dennis from our days at Huff Elementary, Northeast and then Creston together. We built a great friendship, that I will treasure, from our common roots that started at Huff! After our school years together when I would run into Dennis on the golf course, it was always like we never missed a beat and could pick right up where our last conversation left off! Dennis is a true friend that I am honored to know and will miss.
Again, to the Burns Family, please accept my sympathies and know that my family's prayers will be with you.

Words cannot express the hole I feel in my heart right now knowing I will never get to share laughter and memories with my loving friend Dennis again. We take it for granted that the ones we love and share with will always be there even if it is not on a daily basis. Dennis and I got to know each other through athletics, Family Living and English at Creston High School. We could talk to each other and laugh about anything. We had kept in touch throughout the years after graduating, the last time was me trying to convince him to come to the 30 year class reunion. He, out of all the 79 graduates, is the one I wanted to see and connect with the most. I wish he would have been there.

My sincerest sympathies to all the family and friends who will miss Dennis dearly.

He introduced me and my daughter to the game of golf and helped me secure golf instructors for her through the years. I miss him dearly and I pray that the Lord, our savior, will bestow his grace and mercy upon the Burns family. I look forward to walking around heaven with Dennis someday.

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of my good friend Dennis. I have had the pleasure to know Dennis since elementary school. I was very fortunate to be on the receiving end of a lot of his passes on both the football field as well as the basketball court at Creston High and Grand Rapids Community College. Dennis was a great athlete but he was a better friend. In my travels around the world while serving in the United States Air Force, I was very proud of Dennis when I would hear about all of the great things he was doing with his Junior Golf clinics. Dennis was truly a one of a kind person who we miss already. R.I.P. Dennis you deserve it. I met Dennis several years ago on the golf course. He was a great golfer and a good friend. Whenever I saw him he greeted me with a "Billy Dubya" (which I will always remember). He was always willing to help me when I was struggling with my swing and give me some tips. I will miss Dennis. I am sure he is playing golf in heaven and even taking a few bucks from the angels. God Bless.
