Maureen Mikulski Obituary

MIKULSKI - Maureen Kay (Stapleton) Mikulski, age 63, of Lowell, passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer, August 22, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Larry Mikulski; her children, Cara Jane Suggs (Rick Sauber), Michelle Anne (Michael) Kasper, and Scott Robert (Jennifer) Mikulski; brothers, James (Martha) Stapleton, and Pat (Mary) Stapleton; sisters, Mary Jane (William) Link, and Colleen (Scott) Lubenow; grandchildren, Loren and Taylor Suggs, Fernando Ortiz, Mycah and Liberty Kasper, and Ella and Malen Mikulski; and many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked at Amway Corporation for over 20 years. In 1964 she graduated from West Catholic High School. Attended GRJC, married soon after and moved to Lowell where she raised and loved her family. She was known for her kind heart and generosity. She was brave and beautiful and fought the good fight for 20 years. She loved reading, to cook and entertain, her cottage on the lake in Wahalla, and her little Chihuahua Bambie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 402 Amity St, Lowell with Rev. Eugene Okoli, celebrant. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Roth Gerst Funeral Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell. I am so sorry to hear about Maureen. I worked with her for a few years at Amway and know about the battle she fought. I always thought of her as a dear friend and will always remember the Wurzberg's Santa Claus pin she gave me which I still have along with the Teddy Bear.
