Mildred L. Doster, age 74, of Kirby, died Thursday, August 5, 2010. She was born on August 24,1935, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of James Roy Gibbs and Viola Marie Reynolds Gibbs. On January 9, 1960, she was married to Kenneth Doster, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters. She was a member of the Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Charles and Theresa Doster of Jonesville, South Carolina; her grandsons, James Dylan Doster and his wife, Natasha, of Jonesville, South Carolina and Derek Lee Doster of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her great-granddaughter, Hailee Jo Doster of Jonesville, South Carolina; two brothers, James R. Gibbs and Cleatus Eugene Gibbs both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and her sister, Carolyn Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2010, in the Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Howell officiating. Interment will be in the Caney Valley Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.

We are sorry to hear about Millie's passing. Kenneth and Millie were great people and we will miss them both. Millie always knew me and spoke when she saw me and that means a lot to me.
