Eliu A. Miersandoval Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
Sgt. Eliu Miersandoval was known as a friendly young man who relished soccer and the saxophone and was eager to join the Army. He saw the military as a way to expand his horizons and travel, and enlisted after high school. "He was just awesome, always had his head on straight," said his cousin Soledad McMillen, who played in the high school marching band with Miersandoval in San Clemente, Calif. Miersandoval, 27, was among three soldiers killed Jan. 31 when an improvised explosive device hit their vehicle near Kirkuk, Iraq. Stationed at Fort Hood, he is survived by his wife, Amanda, and year-old son, Adrian. Born in Durango, Mexico, Miersandoval could be counted on to come to McMillen''s defense. She remembers a time when he stood up for her when she was picked on during marching band. "My friends went to tell my cousin. Let''s just say the guy never bothered me again," she said. She recalled phoning Miersandoval just before he left for Iraq. "He said he was taking a bath, mellowing out with his son, that it would probably be his last bath for a long time," she said.

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,800 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Kenna

Hey brother it has been a long time for me to responde to the fallen. I have been going threw alot since you, McGeogh, and Cabral are gone. It is realy hard every day for me because I still remember that day and I have no one else to talk to about it. I do get depressed some times and emotional. Right now I have been living in California for over two years and I have been woundering when will I ever stop feeling this way. Maybe later down the road but for now I would like to tell you that you were always a great soldier and a good man. You always liked to help at all times. Always remember that you and the rest might be gone but you are not forgotten. Just to let you now I cam back in the military and now I am an M.P for Riverside. My e-mail is [email protected]

Abi, I miss you, man. Amanda and Adrian were just here two weeks ago for a visit, and I wish you could see your son! You would be SO proud! He looks more and more like you each and every time I see him. It's kind of like having you right there in the room. I know you are in a better place, and I know you do not want us to be sad, but none of us can help but miss you. You will NEVER be forgotten, and your memory will ALWAYS be honored. Rest peacefully in His arms, my friend.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To Eliu's (your beloved Abi)family and friends,
I don't know you but I want to thank you and Eliu for your devotion and commitment. His life was certainly something special. There should be 1,000's or millions of Americans expressing gratitude to you for the sacrifices he made and you have endured, to secure our freedom. Forgive my clumsy speech. I wish you peace and all great things for your family in the new year.
With appreciation and respect,
Jil and boys

Abi, thanks for being who you were.I recently told a former 502nd soldier stationed with us that I'll watch over his son and wife, as I did the old man when you were here, and that will continue. He's a spitting image of you buddy, and you'd be proud of him.I'll do my best to not let the apple fall to far from the tree. Really miss you, Gene & Cecelia

Amanda, For four years our families shared holidays, birthdays, and special events together. I'll always have fond memories of our families at Lake Belton and the first time the two of you rode a Jet Ski. I'll especially remember how Abi's eyes lit up when Herberto was born. Abi was also like an uncle to my children and they miss him as well. Abi will never be forgotten.

Abi, the boys and I miss you so much. I think Andrew misses you most of all. We talk about you often to keep your memory alive in our hearts, even though sometimes it hurts to do so. Adrian looks so much like you! He is like a miniature version of the real you. I take comfort in the faith that you are in a better place, possibly even smiling down at us from time to time. Thank you for the incredible sacrifice you made. I know we will meet again some day in God's presence. We love you!
